Church of Our Lady of Mercy Colva
Colva, India

The Church of Our Lady of Mercy in Colva is one of the best-known churches in South Goa. It was built in the 17th century and later rebuilt and enlarged. The church is famous for its statue of the Menino Jesus, a figure of the Infant Jesus credited by devotees with miraculous healing. According to tradition, the statue was brought from Mozambique by a Jesuit priest. The Fama de Menino Jesus feast is held in October and draws large numbers of pilgrims from across Goa and beyond. The church's white facade and interior altars follow the Goan Catholic style. It stands close to Colva Beach. It is worth the trip for its religious significance and festive atmosphere during the feast.
