Cavelossim Beach lies in southern Salcete, on a strip of land between the Arabian Sea and the Sal River. It is known for its white sand, black lava rocks and clean, quiet shoreline. The area is home to several large resorts, making it popular with families and couples looking for comfort. Visitors can take boat trips on the Sal River, which offer views of the mangroves, birdlife and the estuary. Dolphin-spotting cruises also leave from the area. The beach is less crowded than Colva, with a handful of shacks serving seafood. Cavelossim village has old Portuguese-era houses and a historic church. It is worth the trip for a peaceful beach with easy river excursions.
