Agonda Beach
Agonda, India

Agonda Beach in Canacona taluka is a long, quiet stretch of golden sand north of Palolem. It is about three kilometres long and backed by palm groves and forested hills. Agonda is one of the nesting sites of the Olive Ridley sea turtle, and part of the beach is protected during the nesting season. The beach has a relaxed atmosphere, with beach huts and cafes but no loud nightlife. Swimming is generally good, though currents can be strong at times. Agonda is popular with travellers who want calm and space, including yoga practitioners. The road from Agonda to Cabo de Rama is scenic. It is worth the trip for one of the most peaceful long beaches in Goa.
